FRCDN Staff

Fort Rouge Co-op Day Nursery has a diverse group of Early Childhood Educators, and Child Care Assistants working together to help our programs thrive. Everyone brings something different to the table; different cultural backgrounds, education, languages, and talents. Our unified passion for the early years allows us to create a strong team who provides a warm, loving, nurturing environment for your children to grow and flourish.

Susan Moscovitch – ECE III, Executive Director

I am a mom of two grown children and I have been working in the childcare sector for over 25 years. My experience includes special needs training, Home Family Childcare, Director of Montessori Academy, and my last position prior to becoming director of FRCDN was working as a childcare coordinator in the Seven Oaks Community.

My passion is to advocate for quality childcare. My goal is to create a community where staff, children and families work together to create a warm, safe, friendly environment which promotes community.

Mandeep Chaddha – ECE III, Preschool Site Supervisor

I immigrated from India in 2003 and started working at FRCDN in 2004. I graduated from Punjab Agricultural University in 1998 with a Masters in Child Development. Since then, I have worked in the field in various capacities and gained extensive knowledge and experience.

Eufemia Mendoza – ECE II

I immigrated from the Philippines and came to Winnipeg in 2005.  I have my bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and have many years of experience teaching a variety of grade levels, but I always found the early years to be the most rewarding. In Winnipeg, I received my ECE II diploma through the IEQ program offered by the go

Mellody Pelletier – CCA, Inclusion Support Leader

I started at FRCDN in 2008, my passion has always been working with children… especially those who need some extra support. If children are given the right tools they can accomplish almost anything.

As the inclusion support leader, I support the staff by training them on recommendations put forward by the outside professionals. I have been married for 37 years, and have three grown children who have blessed me with 11 grandchildren.

JR Olson – ECE II

Family is my number one priority and as a proud new papa, I can understand the struggle families are faced with every day trying to find quality childcare.

I am Native American, and I grew up dancing in pow-wows.  I attended Gladstone school from K- Grade 4 and love that I am now working in the community I was raised.

Teresa Corraya – CCA

I joined the FRCDN team in November 2017.  I previously worked at the school-age program, and have been here at the preschool site since July 2019. Back home in Bangladesh, I worked as a kindergarten teacher for two years.  My family and I immigrated to Canada in July 2016, and have volunteered at Gladstone School, as well as FCC daycare.

Zen Rio Quinsaat – ECE ll

After 10 years in the architecture industry, I transitioned into the Early Childhood Education field because I have always loved teaching, motivating, and inspiring young minds. I have been working at FRCDN since 2018 and completed my ECE II diploma in 2023 at Red River Polytechnic. I also facilitate workshops about language, literacy, positive relationships, and representation at the Manitoba Child Care Association.

My passion is creating meaningful programming that promotes children’s overall development in a holistic way. I focus on S.T.E.A.M. activities and incorporate an anti-biased cultural component as well. I value representation and love creating environments and activities that engage and nurture the natural curiosity of children of all ages and abilities. I believe that listening to what children are passionate about and providing opportunities to enrich this passion is key to unlocking their full potential.

Sydney DeBrouwere – AMS Montessori, School-age Supervisor

Hi, my name is Sydney and I’ve been working in childcare since 2014.  I’ve lived in Winnipeg my whole life and am the middle child in a family with 2 brothers.  I originally wanted to work in the justice system and was in school for that, but worked at a daycare as a summer job and I was hooked!  I have been working on and off with children ever since.

Cheyenne Hunter – CCA

I have been working as a Child Care Assistant at the FRCDN since 2018.
I was born in Winnipeg and have lived in the Fort Rouge area since childhood. Growing up here, I have a strong sense of community and enjoy volunteering in my free time. Helping out in my son’s classroom at Gladstone School is what encouraged me to pursue a career in working with children.

Bless Alfonso – ECE III

I was born and raised in Winnipeg. I come from a family of 4: my mother, father, older brother, and myself. Coming into this field, I did not have much experience working with children besides babysitting. So, when I started practicum for school, it was a learning experience and I have gained a lot of skills since then. I decided to work in child care because I love to see children grown and develop through play, and it has always been a goal of mine since I was a child to be a teacher. I find that there are also many opportunities to learn and grow while working in this field.

Eliza Aggarwal – CCA (IT)

I am from India, which is where my whole family still lives.  I have three sisters and  many younger cousins who I used to take care of and where I developed my love and passion for working with children. I have my Bachelor of Education and Masters in English, and I am currently looking into receiving my ECE 2 through the CBA/PLA program offered through the Early Learning and Childcare.

Currently on maternity leave.

Nathan Dela Cruz – CCA- student

I am from the Phillipines and I moved to Winnipeg when I was 16. I am currently in University taking psychiatric nursing. I’ve always enjoyed taking care of others and that’s why I decided to work in child care.

Lindsay Roitenberg- CCA

I was born and raised in Winnipeg, and I am the oldest sibling in my family of 5. The 5th member of my family is my little four-legged brother, Cooper. I love animals of all kinds and I also love nature. Growing up, I didn’t have an easy time in school and daycare, and felt I didn’t have anyone to turn to. I want to work in childcare because I want all of the children I work with to know that they always have a friend in me, and I will always be an advocate for them.

Anna Marquez – CCA

I am married with three kids. I like to cook and make handcrafts. I was a midwife in the Philippines, but when I came to work in Canada in 2012, I started working in child care. I like working in the child care field because I like being around children and nurturing them.

Uri Faingold – CCA- student

I am a student at the University of Manitoba. I was born in Argentina and speak Spanish at home. My career goal is to teach high school level chemistry and biology. I decided to work at FRCDN to get more real-world experience working with children.
